  20. The following are the rules and guidelines for operating on
  21. CalvaryNet.  It is required that everyone review these guidelines
  22. prior to any communication on CalvaryNet.
  23.  
  24. These guidelines are not meant to be restrictive with regards to
  25. promoting fellowship, but are those "boundaries" that are set as a
  26. "rule" for conduct, which will be enforced for the enjoyment of all
  27. who participate.
  28.  
  29. Please be aware that although use of the Calvary Chapel BBS's is a
  30. FREE service to the public, that we are indeed a ministry of
  31. Calvary Chapel.  Please be considerate of this when posting
  32. messages that may deal with other church organizations.  Posting
  33. BBS Ads related to a Non-Calvary Chapel focus is not permitted.
  34.  
  35. Please also be aware that this is a family oriented ministry, and
  36. that children will also have access to the services within.
  37.  
  38. RULES OF CONDUCT:
  39.  
  40. 1. Let all your typing give glory to God; in respecting your
  41.    brother, in treating your brother with brotherly love, and in
  42.    your witness as a Child of God... and Ambassador for Christ...
  43.    while communicating on CalvaryNet.
  44.  
  45. 2. Let all bitterness, envy, strife, speaking evil of dignities and
  46.    of government rulers be far from you.  Let backbiting be
  47.    something far from you.  Shine as a light on a hill... and salt
  48.    to savor the minds of each Christian and potential Christian on
  49.    CalvaryNet.
  50.  
  51.     "And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one
  52.      another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."
  53.                         {Ephesians 4:32}
  54.  
  55. 3. Let all evil communication be far from you.  Don't judge your
  56.    brother as being from the pit of hell... or as being from an
  57.    evil spirit, nor to say evil things to your brothers... be
  58.    kind.. treating your brothers and sisters with the respect you
  59.    would want to be treated.
  60.  
  61. 4. Above all.... love.. and forgive one another... for in doing so
  62.    you show you have great command of the scriptures.. and of
  63.    yourself.
  64.  
  65. 5. Let Christ dwell in you richly on CalvaryNet, and do not "jump
  66.    in" when the above evils are beginning as a small harsh voice to
  67.    your ears.  Overcome such with love... and with kindness in
  68.    return.. regardless of the way you are treated.
  69.  
  70. 6. If you have a complaint against another brother regarding their
  71.    actions on CalvaryNet, please bring that complaint to the SYSOP
  72.    of the BBS you are calling.  That Sysop will then set up some
  73.    sort of means for you to communicate with the offending party so
  74.    you can "go to your brother when you have an offense against
  75.    them". THIS WILL BE DONE APART FROM THE NETWORK.  If such cannot
  76.    be resolved between the "brethren" themselves, that Sysop will
  77.    bring this problem to the attention of the Network Administrator
  78.    (John Scudder) in the CC-Admin Conference. The Network
  79.    Administrator will use the various support and prayer advisors
  80.    on CalvaryNet to review each occurance on a case-by-case basis.
  81.    Any alterations to the above guidelines will be dealt with
  82.    quickly, to avoid disharmony and a veering from our focus of
  83.    fellowship "in the Love of Christ".
  84.  
  85. 7. If you use TAGLINES attached to your mail, such must not be
  86.    offensive in any manner, and must give Glory to God.  If your
  87.    taglines are extremely inappropriate {blatant disrespect or
  88.    inappropriate language, crude, abusive, or otherwise} you will
  89.    promptly be asked to discontinue fellowship on CalvaryNet.
  90.  
  91. 8. Absolutely no references to "swearing" or other inappropriate
  92.    communication, however mild, are permitted on this family
  93.    oriented BBS.  We have all age groups involved in this free
  94.    fellowship ministry, as well as an obligation to have our
  95.    written communication conform to the following:
  96.  
  97.    "Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but
  98.     that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister
  99.     grace unto the hearers." {Ephesians chapter 4, verse 29}
  100.  
  101.    "That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the
  102.     acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ
  103.     Jesus." {Philemon chapter 1, verse 6}
  104.  
  105. 9. Please to not demean or speak ill of other Christian Networks on
  106.    CalvaryNet. It is not within our focus to compare nor ridicule
  107.    other ministries in the service of our King.  If you have a
  108.    complaint regarding another Christian Network other than
  109.    CalvaryNet or another Christian Ministry in the Service of our
  110.    Almighty God, we encourage you to contact that Network's
  111.    Administration and make your concerns known.
  112.  
  113.    Gossip regarding any other ministries in the service of our Lord
  114.    Jesus Christ is not wise, nor appropriate.  Also, please refrain
  115.    from discussing possible inappropriate actions a brother may
  116.    have on other Christian Networks while on CalvaryNet.  We can
  117.    (in love) peacefully discuss their "CalvaryNet" specific actions
  118.    in accordance with these CCPOLICY guidelines *apart* from their
  119.    actions on other Networks or ministries.
  120.

  122.   "For I fear that perhaps I may come and find you not what I wish,
  123.    and that you may find me not what you wish; that perhaps there
  124.    may be quarreling, jealousy, anger, selfishness, slander,
  125.    gossip, conceit, and disorder." {RSV}

  127. 10. The Network Administrator can alter or delete any message on
  128.     CalvaryNet if such are inappropriate for family viewing or
  129.     inconsistent with the above guidelines.  This prohibits their
  130.     inappropriate content from going out over the network.... to
  131.     Christian Families and other BBS's. The use of @#^$% type
  132.     characters in conjunction with relaying a thought are not
  133.     permitted, as they convey the same inappropriate wordage and
  134.     intended meaning as the word they are symbolizing. The Network
  135.     Administrator can refuse access to CalvaryNet to any individual
  136.     or group of individuals that are inconsistent with the focus
  137.     and/or objective of this Ministry, including the inability to
  138.     communicate with one another under these (and Biblical) listed
  139.     Guidelines.
  140.  
  141. 11. The Calvary Chapel Sysops actively Relaying CalvaryNet have a
  142.     responsibility to monitor their respective BBS's for
  143.     inappropriate behavior, and thus, may have additional
  144.     guidelines for your behavior while you are on their respective
  145.     BBS.  We encourage you to communicate with the Sysop of the
  146.     particular BBS system you are using if you have any concerns.

  148. 12. The Administrative Pastor of CalvaryNet is Pastor Ralph Wood of
  149.     Calvary Chapel Oceanside.  The Network Administrator (John
  150.     Scudder) is under the authority of Pastor Ralph.  Pastor Ralph
  151.     Wood has access to all CalvaryNet communication.  Since we are
  152.     "forgiveness" and "fellowship in love" oriented, all corrective
  153.     administrative actions will be handled on an individual basis.
  154.     When a situation does arise that requires Administrative Action,
  155.     there will be an immediate "time out" for the parties involved,
  156.     which is basically a *temporary* restriction from CalvaryNet
  157.     Communication until the presented actions can be prayerfully
  158.     considered and dealt with in love and admonition of the Lord.
  159.  
  160.     The Structure and Focus of CalvaryNet is to provide a means to
  161.     connect the Calvary Chapel and affiliate churches while also
  162.     providing a wonderful Christ centered family oriented
  163.     fellowship ministry to the world.  There is an "extended focus"
  164.     to Reach, Teach, Mend, and Send in conjunction with the whole
  165.     Calvary Chapel orientation and objectives in ministry.

  167. 13. "And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for
  168.      charity shall cover the multitude of sins."  {1 Peter 4:8}
  169.  
  170.   WHEW! now that these guidelines that "HELP US TO REMEMBER" the
  171.   LOVE IN CHRIST we have for one another are listed, we can go on,
  172.   sharing in His most Precious Light! To Lighten all who cross our
  173.   path... and all who can see.  If you have any questions regarding
  174.   these guidelines, please take a moment to pray regarding your
  175.   requests, and then present them to the SYSOP of the Bulletin
  176.   Board you are communicating on.
